Bang Sue Grand Station Free Vaccination Service Extended Until September

The inoculation venue at Bang Sue Grand Station will be temporarily extending its services for another month from its original Aug. 31 closing date, according to an announcement from Bang Sue Grand Station vaccination centre head Dr. Mingkwan Wichaidit.

The extension comes as a response to the Ministry of Public Health’s upcoming adjustment of the COVID-19 status to “infectious disease under watch,” and the less-than-expected national jab rate of only 50%. Wichaidit recommends people to get at least one booster shot and hopes to raise the rate of the population with at least one booster to around 60-70%.

As the next generation of vaccines will not be available in the nation until next year, Wichaidit urges members of the public who haven’t received an injection within the last four months to renew their immunity.

Still, it was expressed that should infections spike in September, the centre may continue to operate past the new deadline. “The centre must be ready to reopen at 24 hours’ notice, if there is a new round of pandemic,” said Wichaidit.
