Attention: NewJeans’ Debut EP Soars to No. 1 on Thailand’s iTunes Charts

HYBE’s new South Korean girl group NewJeans peaked at No. 1 on Thailand’s iTunes charts with their debut self-titled EP. Released on Aug. 1, the EP is comprised of fresh tunes “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “Cookie,” and “Hurt.”

Thai fans immediately took to Twitter to express their excitement:

Aside from Thailand, NewJeans’ debut EP also topped the iTunes charts in nine different regions including South Korea, Indonesia, Finland, and Russia. The K-Pop group also made history by debuting at No. 20 on the Melon chart, the highest chart entry of any girl group in three years.

NewJeans is a quintet act made up of members Minji, Hyein, Danielle, Haerin, and Hanni. They are the latest girl group formed by HYBE, the same agency that launched K-Pop stars BTS, Enhyphen, and Tomorrow X Together.
