Ministry of Commerce Launches 'Farmer to Consumer' App

Thai Gov't Launches 'MOC Agri Mart' App to Connect Farmers and Consumers

Thailand's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) recently launched the "MOC Agri Mart," an application that directly bridges farmers to consumers for buying and selling of agricultural produce.

In a press release by the Royal Thai Government on Jan. 20, Deputy Government Spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek shared that Thailand has an online business policy among SMEs to advocate for the direct marketing of produce without middlemen.

MOC Agri Mart was created by the MOC in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives under its "Agriculture produces - Commerce markets" scheme.

Thanks to the app, Thais can now purchase vegetables, fruits, herbal products, and other processed agro products directly from farmers through the app 24/7.

Apart from the online market, the app also serves as a portal to learn about community products and markets, agricultural attractions in Thailand, and upcoming fruit trade fairs and other agricultural activities in the country.

To learn more about how to use the app as a consumer or a seller, read MOC Agri Mart’s FAQs here. The app is free on both Android and iOS.
