Nine restaurants in Thailand made it into the recently released 2022 edition of “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants,” the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported in a press release last Friday, April 1.
The 2022 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list was revealed last week, March 29, at three simultaneous venues in Bangkok, Macau, and Tokyo. The event brought together chefs, restauranteurs, and industry VIPs.
“The inclusion of nine restaurants in Thailand among the 50 best in Asia is an impressive achievement indeed, and it is representative of the fantastic quality and diversity of the cuisine sector throughout the country. It also fits perfectly with the promotion of Thai cuisine as a key element of TAT’s ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign,” TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said.
Thailand had the second most entries in the list after Japan with 11 entries.
Sorn on Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Soi 26 secured the second spot with its “unmatched Southern Thai food with impeccable service.” Three other restaurants made it into the top 10 as well — Le Du (4th place), Sühring (7th place), and Nusara (10th place).
As for the rest, the restaurants made their debut on the top 50 list — Blue by Alain Ducasse (25th place), Sushi Masato (29th place), Samrub Samrub Thai (31st place), Gaa (33rd place), and Raan Jay Fai (46th place).
