Get Yourself Inked at These Tattoo Studios in Bangkok

The debate about tattoo as an art persists but compared to the past years, the stigma seems to be less evident today especially for the younger generation. Tattoos are more than a trend and considered as spiritual protection in Thailand.

A friendly reminder to do your research before getting a tattoo especially when it’s related to Buddhism or any religion. In Thai culture, it is deemed offensive and a form of blasphemy to have this kind of tattoo

because the teachings of Buddha are deeply sacred that deserve high respect and must not be repurposed to ride on a trend.

Nevertheless, you can still have other designs inked on you to express devotion to Buddhism. Whether you need some touch-up or a second tattoo perhaps, there are many tattoo studios in Bangkok worth checking out.

Common Ground Tattoo

One of the highly recommended tattoo studios in Bangkok is Common Ground Tattoo, a former vintage Chinese shop turned into a tattoo studio. Despite the studio’s refurbishment, it maintains its ancient vibe as antiques and classic home furnishings deck the place.

The studio is manned by a group of international artists who have different styles in tattooing intricate and custom designs such as Japanese creatures, animals, anime characters, and family portraits.

Aside from their resident artists, Common Ground Tattoo also welcomes guest tattooists to share their amazing talents and knowledge as artists. They are open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Wat Bang Phra (Sak Yant Tattoos)

Wat Bang Phra is no stranger in the tattoo industry in Bangkok. It is one of the most sought-after places to get a tattoo administered by the monks who live in Buddhist temples.

The design is referred to as the Gao Yord Yant or 9 Spires Yant tattooed usually on the nape. It is believed to protect you and bring good luck as the number nine is important in Buddhism.
