Thailand is letting locals and visitors in on its rich culture and heritage as Museum Siam is hosting this year’s edition of “Night at the Museum Festival 2023!”
To run from Dec. 15-24, the festival will take place in about 49 museums and learning centres across the country. These venues will showcase the Land of Smiles’ marvellous history and traditions with special events.
Some of the activities visitors can expect include Thai cuisine cooking classes, exhibitions, open-air cinemas, traditional Thai incense and potpourri workshops, and overnight camps, among many others.
There will also be marketplaces selling local products, live music performances, food trucks, and tours curated to make the visitors’ experience more enjoyable.
The festival will run at its host museum, Museum Siam, as well as venues like the National Museum Bangkok, the Jim Thompson Art Centre, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, the Arts Gallery at Ban Chao Phraya, the Gem and Jewellery Museum, and many more.
The celebration extends far beyond the capital, as it will also grace museums and institutions in various provinces including Pathum Thani, Khon Kaen, Nonthaburi, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, among others.
First held in 2016, the “Night at the Museum Festival” started with 18 participating venues. The roster grew to 43 last year, attracting both locals and tourists visiting the country.
