Nike Dunk Low ‘Virgil Abloh™ x Futura Laboratories’ to Go On Auction Apr. 5

Sotheby's has announced a global online auction of the Nike Dunk Low ‘Virgil Abloh™ x Futura Laboratories’ to launch this Apr. 5.

Designed by Virgil Abloh and the artist Futura, the auction will feature eight pairs of Nike Dunk Lows in two colourways, with all proceeds going to support the work of the Virgil Abloh Foundation; the new philanthropic offshoot of Virgil Abloh Securities set to launch later this year.

The Foundation aims to increase opportunities for less fortunate youth interested in pursuing careers in the creative field. It will continue the Abloh family's work to uphold the creative ethos of the late designer.

In addition to supporting the Virgil Abloh Foundation, the auction will also share half of its proceeds to Futura's choice of charities: the Art for Justice Fund, the Boys & Girls Club of America, and the Innocence Project.

The Nike Dunk Low ‘Virgil Abloh™ x Futura Laboratories’ sneakers were first unveiled at Off-White™ c/o Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2020 show in Paris. The shoes marry together signature elements from both creative minds, including Futura’s script style, to Virgil’s double-lacing that gave a fresh new touch to the classic Nike Dunk silhouette.

The Nike Dunk Lows are available in blue and white, and in orange and blue. Both colourways are also adorned with the official Futura Laboratories ‘FL’ logo and show the traditional Nike silhouette reinterpreted through Abloh’s unique perspective.
