Citywide Recycling Promotion Campaign Set for June

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) announced that its special citywide recycling 6X GREEN$ promotion campaign will be held for the length of June up until July 5 to celebrate green living in Hong Kong communities and the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong to China.

Encouraging cleaner recycling practices in one's daily life, the government’s community recycling network, GREEN@COMMUNITY, will offer six times normal “GREEN$,” the points earned for recycling in the network’s stations, when the public recycles at the network.

Under the GREEN@COMMUNITY network, there are currently 11 recycling stations, 32 stores, and more than 120 spots to recycle.

“During the promotion period, the public can earn six times the amount of GREEN$ points under the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme on submission of designated recyclables, including wastepaper, metals, plastics, glass containers, regulated electrical equipment, small electrical appliances, fluorescent lamps/tubes and rechargeable batteries, to any recycling point of GREEN@COMMUNITY,” a press release explained.
