COVID-19 Test Kits Distributed to Households, Cleaning Workers in Eastern District

The Home Affairs Department (HAD) distributed around 110,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) kits to residents, cleaning workers, and property management staff in the Eastern District following positive COVID-19 test results from sewage samples in the area.

According to a government press release on Sunday, the Eastern District Office (EDO) distributed the test kits to those living and working in Heng Fa Chuen, Heng Fa Villa, Carson Mansion, Harbour Glory, Yuet Ming Building, United Building, Swanhill Mansion, 188-190 Electric Road, and Tung Hei Court for testing through the property management companies.

The arrangements were made by the HAD in hopes of identifying early those infected with COVID-19.

Those who test positive through an RAT are required to take a photo of their test result and declare it within 24 hours via the Declaration System for Individuals Tested Positive for COVID-19 Using Rapid Antigen Test. Those who encounter problems using the online platform are advised to call the automated system at 183 6119 to register their identification document and telephone number. As per the HAD, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) under the Department of Health (DH) will reach out to the relevant contact person to complete the report.

The government appealed to the public to undergo testing voluntarily to safeguard the health of their families and themselves as a means to fight COVID-19 together.
