Gov't Adds Three Quarantine Hotels for Incoming Travellers

The government announced yesterday (April 12) that authorities intend to convert three hotels originally reserved for isolation of people with COVID-19 into spaces to quarantine incoming travellers to the city.

Royal Pacific Hotel in Hung Hom, The Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, and Cordis in Mong Kok will begin accepting bookings for people returning from overseas from tomorrow (April 14).

Four other quarantine hotels specified to receive only domestic helpers – Courtyard by Marriott in Sha Tin, iclub Ma Tau Wai Hotel, O’Hotel and Rambler Garden Hotel – will begin the intake of residents from May 1.

The boosted supply of designated quarantine hotels is to meet the needs of Hong Kong residents returning and domestic helpers, officials said.

With the inclusion of seven additional hotels, authorities estimate that a total of 14,000 rooms will be makde available for quarantine of flight passengers from May.
