An additional dedicated vaccination centre offering Pfizer vaccines for children aged five to 11 will open on Friday at the Tseun Wan Sports Centre, with online reservations starting 9 AM today via the government website.
Pfizer jabs are currently available at three community vaccination centers for children: the Hong Kong Children's Hospital in Kowloon Bay, Yuen Chau Kok Sports Centre in Sha Tin, and Gleneagles Hospital in Wong Chuk Hang.
From March 7, opening hours in the centres at Hong Kong Children's Hospital and Yuen Chau Kok Sports Centre will be extended from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Guardians must accompany children when receiving vaccination, bring original identity documents, and the parent consent form.
Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip Tak-kuen told the press that authorities are “making every effort to expedite the pace of vaccination of children,” urging parents and guardians to arrange vaccination as soon as possible.
"In addition, we are preparing for the setting up of additional community vaccination centres dedicated to providing the Sinovac vaccine to children, teenagers and elderly persons," Nip said.
