Free Use of Sports Facilities on July 1 for National Day

In a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will open most of its leisure facilities, public swimming pools, and water sports centres for free use to the public on July 1.

From 7 AM on June 25, bookings can be made via the LCSD booking counters at government department venues and online on a first come, first served basis for the free use of leisure facilities.

Each person can book only one free session — irrespective of the type of leisure facility. No booking is required for public swimming pool facilities, with the public advised to line up at the entrances of the swimming pools for free admission on a first come, first served basis.

The LCSD advises the public to observe the conditions of fair use set out by the government body, with hirers arriving on time and using such booked facilities ethically.

“The facility shall be used for the purpose for which it had been booked by the original hirer, and the facility should be surrendered to the original hirer immediately upon his/her arrival,” a spokesperson said.
