Hong Kong's Vaccination Centres To Extend Operations Until March 2022
The government announced on the weekend that 10 of Hong Kong’s community vaccination centres will extend their operations until March 31, 2022, to accommodate for the supply of third doses to the elderly.
Eleven centres will be closed by the end of the year in view of stabilising vaccination rate in the city.
The move represents a shift of focus away from providing vaccination services mainly through the centres to private clinics, mobile vaccination stations, and hospitals.
The centres set to close are the Kowloon Bay Sports Centre, Tin Fai Road Sports Centre, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre, Education Bureau Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre, Ho Man Tin Sports Centre, Boundary Street Sports Centre, Tseung Kwan O Sports Centre, Lung Sum Avenue Sports Centre, Yau Oi Sports Centre, Tung Chung Community Hall, and Choi Hung Road Badminton Centre.
New COVID-19 vaccination stations will be set up in Princess Margaret and Ruttonjee hospitals on Dec.10, bringing the number of such stations to 11.
