HK’s 1st Egyptian Food Festival to Kick Off Sept. 12 With Chef Bobby Chinn

Chinese-Egyptian celebrity chef Bobby Chinn is coming to Hong Kong this month for the first-ever Egyptian Food Festival, a grand feast of rich culinary traditions for local foodies to try.

Organised by The Consulate General of Egypt in Hong Kong and the Silver Oak Group, the festival will take place in the evenings from Sept. 12 to 16, at The Bayside in Hung Hom and F.I.G.S Bistro Mediterranean in Tai Koo Shing.

Chef Bobby will whip up a five-course tasting menu that will take you on a culinary journey, featuring dishes that embody the rich flavours and traditions of Egypt's ancient Pharaohs, while also highlighting Cairo's lively and vibrant souks.

Priced at HK$498, this menu will showcase signature dishes like Grapes Wrapped with Goat Cheese Encrusted with Pistachios, and Foie Gras Terrine with Fresh Figs from chef Bobby’s popular cookbook. To seal this culinary experience, diners can fork out an additional HK$200 for wine pairing.

On Sept. 16, chef Bobby will host an exclusive cooking class at The Bayside, delving into Egypt’s rich food culture with a focus on seasonal and local ingredients.

Participants will learn how to make the chef’s signature starter of grapes, cheese, and pistachios, followed by a main course of stuffed pigeon with cracked wheat and spices, finished off with a popular Egyptian dessert. The cooking class is priced at HK$450 per person.
