Hjem Cafe Launches 'A Taste of Hjem' Set Menu for 1st Anniversary

Hong Kong’s first Nordic-style café, Hjem, is set to celebrate their first birthday in comforting Norwegian fashion with the introduction of a curated set menu, “A Taste of Hjem.” It consists of the year’s favourites by the young Common Abode venue in Sheung Wan.

The set menu is designed for sharing with a close partner, allowing guests to savour a diverse range of dishes introduced at the Hollywood Road café over its first year. Priced at HK$448, couples can expect two smørrebrød dishes – Arctic Prawns, paired with boiled egg, trout roe, and dill mayonnaise, and the Beef Pastrami, topped with creamy potato salad, pickled cucumbers, crispy onions, and cress.

The two open-faced sandwich plates come with a healthy portion of mixed pork and beef Meatballs, served with mash and lingonberry jam, a refreshing side of Pickled Beetroot & Apple Salad, and the choice of either Cinnamon & Cardamom Bun or the Cake of the Day.

In true Hjem hospitality, add-ons are available to tailor one's experience at the café, with signature drinks available for an additional HK$35, including the Dill Fennel Soda and Cold Brew Barley Tea. Up until July 12, guests can indulge in a sip of Hjem’s custom lager produced in collaboration with Young Master Brewery, the Skål (HK$25).

“A way of wrapping up their first year on the block, the menu will not only be a good introduction to those new to Hjem, but will truly be a taste of home for those that have frequented the space over the past year,” said Melanie Cox, communications head of Common Abode.
