Black Sheep Celebrates 10 Years With a Summer of Fun and Food

September 2022 is a marked date in Hong Kong’s calendar for the decennial anniversary of monolith Black Sheep Restaurants group, defining 10 years of creativity, innovation, resilience, and persistence in delivering high-quality and international concepts to the mouths of SoHo diners.

To celebrate the 10-year birthday of a group that has redefined dining in Hong Kong’s hip F&B neighbourhood, Black Sheep is set to host a wealth of events at their signature venues with its family.

Celebrations begin today, with all guests dining at a Black Sheep restaurant granted a complimentary anniversary drink from June 13 to 22, “to thank [them] for being part of this adventure and circle back to the start where all the stories and ideas […] that shaped Black Sheep Restaurants began.”

From June 27-Sept. 4, the restaurant group will gift 10 lucky guests an all-exclusive birthday party package, where one guest each week who dines at a Black Sheep Restaurants venue will be picked at random to win their next birthday meal and share with up to 10 guests at a family restaurant. All guests who book for dinner at any restaurant during the 10-week period will be automatically entered for a chance to win the luscious prize.

From June 13 onwards, Black Sheep guests will have an opportunity to taste the restaurant group’s most beloved dishes curated and cooked within the past decade, including the iconic Carbone Baked Clams and Fukuro’s Yakiniku Beef Udon.

In July, the return of the Black Sheep Summer Festival is set to land in SoHo, with boozy bashes, sports events, game night, and music showings set to usher guests with love to Buenos Aires Polo Club, The Last Resort, and LaVache! SoHo.

August marks the return of the group’s signature 10-day celebration of dining with Black Series: Celebrating A Decade of Black Sheep, with curated menus featuring beloved dishes and hands-on experiences set to present friends with a behind-the-scenes perspective of how Black Sheep magic is made. With the end of the summer in September, the first rendition of the Black Sheep Gala is set to celebrate the growth and prosperity of the restaurant group and its appendage 1,000-strong staff count who have brought the family to new heights. The invite-only evening will celebrate other industry leaders who have impacted the city’s art, culture, and hospitality scenes over the last decade.

"Since day one, we have always had this underdog mentality that has been our driving force, and even though we've come so far, it still rings true. I can clearly remember that very first dinner service Chris and I had. Where the nerves and fear we were feeling were fighting with the adrenaline and excitement of opening the doors on something that was truly finally ours," said co-founder Asim Hussain.

"Now, a decade, and over 30 restaurants on, we continue to chase this same rush, the thrill of bringing the magic of a dining room alive. If I could go back and tell my 26-year-old-self one thing, it would be that all the highs and lows, the hard work and the late nights, all the successes and the failures that inevitably will happen will be worth it."
