Richard Ekkebus Holds ‘Our Foods Our Future’ to Focus On Sustainability

Richard Ekkebus, Director of Culinary Operations at the Mandarin Oriental and president of Future Green is hosting ‘Our Foods Our Future UnConference’ on Feb. 17. Announcing to his audience through a video on Instagram, Ekkebus aims to unite members of the food and beverage space and discuss sustainable practices.

As quoted from the event’s introductory video, this conference is the first cross-sector convening in the food and beverage industry. “Whether you work in food service, hospitality, corporate, or sustainability, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on why and how we need a collaborative ecosystem approach of complex food systems towards sustainability.”

“As a chef and a business leader, it is clear that we have the power to positively influence the food system, not only the farmers, producers and suppliers in our procurement, but also to shape the menus that we design for our guests.” says Richard.

The event will be attended by industry experts, with a sustainable lunch and cocktails provided for attending guests. Panel speakers include Deepanker Khosla, Katie Chick, Madhumitha Ardhanari, Mark Driscoll, and Kamal Seth - each with a unique background and education in food sustainability.
