World Champion Pizza Acrobat Pasqualino Barbasso visits HK This March

Cucina at Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel is bringing back two-time Pizza Acrobatics world champion Chef Pasqualino Barbasso from Mar. 21 to 26.

With over 25 years of pizza-making experience, Chef Pasqualino was named the world champion for the mouth-watering Italian pizzas featuring dough-spinning acrobatics in 2001 and 2002.

The Neapolitan craft of pizza-making requires specific dough preparation and wood-fired baking, with spinning being the most crucial step. Chef Pasqualino's pizza acrobatics showcases have been held in France, the UK, Russia, China, Indonesia, India, Singapore, and many other countries. His previous appearances at Cucina were in 2018 and 2019.

Aside from his dough-spinning entertainment, Chef Pasqualino will also serve his signature Neapolitan-style pizzas during his six-day guest residence at Cucina. The limited-time menu will feature eight authentic Italian pies, including the rich and delicious Golosona (HK$328) topped with Mortadella, Mozzarella, Burrata, Pistachio Pesto, Black Truffle , with pesto made from pistachios from Southern Italy.

For healthier indulgences, go for the vegetarian Rainbow (HK$248) with Vegan Cheese, Yellow Peppers, Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes, Artichoke Purée, or the light yet satisfying Norvegese (HK$328) with Smoked Salmon, Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella, Asparagus Purée, Parsley. Meat lovers can enjoy the rich and flavourful Winter (HK$268) with Pork Sausage, Spicy Salami, Mushrooms, Mozzarella, Smoked Cheese, Pumpkin Purée.

Chef Pasqualino's pizza acrobatics performances will take place during lunch and dinner. Diners with birthdays in March will be offered a complimentary glass of wine upon ordering from the pizza menu.
