As the year 2024 unfolds, Hongkongers are ready to unleash their wanderlust and embark on thrilling adventures outside of the city. According to a report by Klook, over six in 10 Hongkongers are willing to spend more on travel compared to the previous year.

In fact, three in five travellers in the Asia-Pacific region, including Hong Kong, are planning to splurge 30% to 50% more on their 2024 escapades, allocating a significant portion of their budget to unforgettable experiences during their travels.

When it comes to travel preferences, most Hong Kong travellers prefer to explore the world with their partners (41%), creating lasting memories together. Additionally, a considerable number of adventurers (19%) enjoy embarking on thrilling escapades with their immediate families.

While Japan remains the top destination for Hong Kong travellers (53%), other captivating places have also caught their attention. Singapore, South Korea, and mainland China have emerged as popular choices, with 19% of travellers opting for these vibrant locales. Notably, there is a growing trend of day trips to mainland China, attracting over 53 million Hong Kong travellers seeking diverse dining, shopping, and recreational experiences.

Meanwhile, Klook's report reveals that autumn is the favoured traveling season for Hongkongers, capturing the hearts of 31% of adventurers.
