'Discovery BAYcation' Begins With Jam-packed Summer of Family Fun

The heat of summertime is upon us (occasionally disrupted by the horrible rain and typhoon-like winds) and we could not be more excited for it. To celebrate the joyous time of the year, Discovery Bay (DB) is hosting a wealth of family fun activities to eat, make, play, and explore to your hearts’ content.

Begin your visit down at the Discovery Bay Sunday market, a bi-monthly open-air market hosted every second Sunday of the month, where local craft vendors are set to host this month's market on Aug. 14 from 11 AM to 6 PM. Find leather crafts, homemade gift sets and presents, gourmet food, and local garments here. Acclaimed Japanese percussionist Kumi Masunaga is also set to host an African Drum Jamming session from 2 PM to 3:30 PM during the Sunday market.

If you’re in the need for some food to replenish your energy, head to Peony Chinese Restaurant for a tasty lunch set, with traditional Cantonese dishes prepared by head chef Chu Ting Kwok, who hails from a former Michelin-starred restaurant.

While you’re in the mood for something exciting, Auberge Discovery Bay is collaborating with European cartoon MOOMIN to bring Hong Kong’s first-ever themed afternoon tea alive, available to purchase with “MOOMIN staycation.”

After a long day, Discovery Bay’s Tai Pak Beach is the perfect destination to hit to relax and let your kids play at Hong Kong’s largest beach playground, packed with nets, rope bridges, jumping logs, swings, nets, and walkways.
