V&A Joins K11 to Debut Couture Fashion Exhibition in December

In a collaboration with London-based Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), K11 Musea is featuring “The Love of Couture Artisanship in Fashion Beyond Time” exhibition this coming December.

Developed by honoured fashion production designer William Chang Suk-ping, well known for his costume design for Wong Kar-wai’s “In the Mood for Love,” this presentation will be the first in Asia to show a couture collection with items that date as far back as 200 years ago.

Culling historically significant pieces from the V&A fashion archives, whilst juxtaposing them with brand new designs from emerging East Asian talents, the exhibition merges the cultures of East and West, as well as the fashion of past and future. Six representatives make up the Asian designers roster, including 2022 LVMH Prize finalist Ryunosuke Okazaki and semifinalist Yueqi Qi, Sohee Park, Celine Kwan, Sensen Lii, and Tomo Koizumi.

Slated to begin on Dec. 9, and running until Jan. 29, the showcase will take place at the Kunsthalle on the sixth floor of the K11 Art & Cultural Centre. Admissions are priced at a flat rate of HK$150 for all tiers of KLUB11 members, as well as general visitors.
