Mobile Suit Gundam Exhibition Arrives to Ocean Park Hong Kong This April

Celebrate Okawara Kunio at the ‘Okawara Kunio 50th Anniversary Exhibition’ from Apr. 1 to Jun. 4, 2023 at Ocean Park. Okawara Kunio is a legendary figure in Japanese mechanical design,whose notable works include Yatterman, King of Braves GAOGAIGAR, as well as the iconic Mobile Suit Gundam series of 40 years.

Giant figures of his ground-breaking designs will be featured at the Exhibition, including the RX-78-2 Gundam and the MS-06F Zaku II, – along with more recent creations.

Creations such as Mado King Granzort and Armored Trooper VOTOMS, a two-meter-tall Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit model, and 18 additional homemade mechanical models from Okawara Factory will also be part of the showcase.

Including over 300 sketches, 20 rarely exhibited original works, and secret designs and models of his earliest creations – the exhibition serves as a unique opportunity for anime and mecha fans in Hong Kong.

The exhibition will also feature the launch of three Okawara Kunio-themed Mobile Octopus card customizable artwork, including the redesigned G Gundam specially made for the Hong Kong exhibition.
