1. ‘HKT X WESTK POPFEST’ at West Kowloon Cultural District

Make the most out of the changing airs and kick-off the pre-Easter holidays with a multifaceted music and arts festival! Set against the expanse of the artsy West Kowloon Cultural District, the venue host presents an exciting 10-day programme celebrating the best of homegrown Hong Kong talent. Enjoy a series of live performances across the district, including Popnorama outdoor jams, Unboxed theatre dance parties, moving I Am What I Am Leslie Cheung tribute performances, and the experimental music explosion presented by the Dragon’s Delusion – Paracusia live cinema show.

Not just a music festival, the event doubles as a platform for exciting collaborations among musicians and vocalists from differing backgrounds. From Juno Mak and Bert to Ivana Wong and Tsui Chin-hung, the festival features unique lineups as well as mash-up collabs each day to showcase our city's bustling music scene.

2. Be Y2KIDS Market by M3 at D2 Place One & Two

Turn back time and rev up the nostalgia by browsing through some of the cutest and coolest Y2K-themed trinkets at this market. Featuring crafts, collectibles, stationery, accessories, gifts, and more, this gathering rounds up indie Hong Kong creators with a range of unique items for you to peruse and purchase. What’s more, the market will also be fitted with an accent wall that visitors can freely decorate and draw on. There will also be free Y2K-themed stickers and a DIY keychain making workshop for guests.

3. ‘ksa pure heritage’ at Art Roof Top in Happy Valley

Marking a debut for locally based artist KSA, “Pure Heritage” is a showcase of the collective experiences amongst the Asian diaspora in Hong Kong. Through a deconstruction of our hyper-speed homogenisation of culture in today’s late-stage capitalism, her playful yet skilful works express the recognizable and relatable through intriguing forms. Head along on its opening day on April 1 to catch the artist in person.

4. ‘Hong Kong Chamber Flutes 2023 Recital’

The Hong Kong Flute Chamber Orchestra is thrilled to announce their upcoming concert, marking their first performance since before the pandemic. After months of hard work and anticipation, the orchestra is finally able to reunite with their audience and deliver a stunning woodwind musical experience. The concert will feature classic repertoires, including selections from the renowned musical "West Side Story." With the unique interpretation of a flute choir, the audience can enjoy the classics in a new light.

Beyond the live performance, the event aims to foster cultural exchange, welcoming people from all walks of life with different musical preferences to come along and listen. The programme includes pieces such as Leonard Bernstein's "Suite from West Side Story," Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" from Prince Igor, Gabriel Faure's "Cantique de Jean Racine," John Rutter's "The Music’s Always There With You," and Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" (in 5 Minutes).

5. ‘Discovering Sochu & Awamori Masterclass’ by Kuromaru in Wan Chai

Get a taste of Japan's most popular spirit first-hand in an immersive masterclass to broaden your palate and expand your knowledge on all things shochu. Led by Kuromaru's expert team, this flavour-led experience will showcase three artisanal shochu labels alongside a table of Japanese bar snacks, each with their own unique flavours and textures.

On top of the sochu flight, the bar team will also create a series of cocktails starring the spirit and teach you to do the same! Create your own shochu highball and put your newfound knowledge to the test to craft a drink that's uniquely yours.

6. ‘Spring tea gathering-I: Matcha Basics’ by OCHADOZO in Wan Chai

Matcha appreciation and education collective OCHADOZO is celebrating springtime’s full blossoming with their latest Japanese tea course series, CHANOWA. Apt to the season, this first course will be available throughout April and consist of class sessions held across four consecutive Saturdays. Participants will learn how to set up, use utensils, whisk, serve, drink, and wrap up matcha. The final session will be an in-class tea party where participants will showcase what they have learnt.

The course is instructed by Yuki Futami, a certified tea instructor and Japanese tea ambassador in Hong Kong who has been practicing the Japanese way of tea (chadō) for nearly a decade. Future courses will build on this first Matcha Basics course, covering topics related to sencha (煎茶 tea leaves tea), preparation of koicha (濃抹茶), and more! Participants can opt for a one-time session or join along for the whole series.

7. ‘Perrier-Jouët Secret Garden’ at Tai Kwun

Combining the finer elements of life with their luxuriant Champagne, Perrier Jouët is planting roots of wonder to host an enchanted Secret Garden pop-up. This exclusive event is a celebration of art and luxury, with the label having teamed up with local artist Neil Wang to create an unforgettable augmented reality (AR) art experience for all attendees.

The mesmerizing AR-activated mural art envelops visitors as the visual masterpiece creates a stunning encounter. To complement the artistic experience, there will also be a pop-up bar where guests can sip on the exquisite Champagne Perrier-Jouët. The Champagne's floral and elegant notes are the perfect complement to the flora-inspired artwork of the surroundings.

If you’re heading over to catch a sip, take note that the bar is only open from 4 PM onwards!

Chef pâtissière Asuka Matsubara from Kyoto has crafted delectable treats that pay homage to the delicate beauty of the sakura flower. Known for their blooming shades of white and pink, cherry blossoms are a fleeting spectacle that lasts only a week before the petals gracefully fall to the ground.

Indulge in their Sakura Macaron (HK$200 per 8 pcs.), featuring meringue shells with a raspberry filling mixed with chopped sakura leaves, or try their Sakura Roll Cake (HK$430) that’s made from edible Japanese sakura powder and filled with fresh Japanese strawberries folded into sakura cream. Savour one of the most iconic Hong Kong traditions at this gourmet banquet of unlimited dim sum paired with curated Champagnes. The elevated Sunday experience is a love letter to the city’s beloved dim sum culture and comes as an all-inclusive feast with an allotted one bottle of Champagne per guest!

The menu features creative takes on familiar dim sum staples by Head Chef ArChan Chan and newly joined Dim Sum Chef Winson Yip. Share steaming Har Har Har Gow, crunchy Fried Taro Puff with Wagyu Beef, and one-of-a-kind bites unique to Hong Kong cuisine such as Salt & Pepper Tofu with Crispy Garlic. Heftier traditional Cantonese dishes are also flipped for new tastes, such as the Lotus Leaf-wrapped Wild Mushroom and Cordyceps Flower Fried Rice or the absolute must-try, Honey-glazed and Charcoal-grilled Kurobuta Pork Char Siu. 10. New Tasting Menu at Chutney Tandoor House in Central

Indian oven-cooking specialists Chutney Tandoor House have welcomed their new Executive Chef, Virender Kumar, who holds over 20 years of experience in professional kitchens around the world under his belt. Giving their menu a facelift, his newly crafted items include mouth-watering selections like Andhra Tenderloin (HK$398) marinated with fresh curry leaves and a mix of dreamy spices. For seafood lovers, the beautifully presented Scallop Moilee Curry (HK$338) is a must-try. Vegetarian options include Kathal Ki Subzi (HK$168), which is a dry jackfruit curry marinated overnight with lemon juice, turmeric, coriander, ginger, and garlic, and braised with mustard oil.

Highlighting these new dishes in a special tasting menu (HK$568), fill up on a selection of Chef Kumar’s robust dishes with the option of a starter tandoor and curries, assorted naans or basmati rice, with dessert to end.
