SHOPLINE’s Double 11 Success Fuels Global Expansion and Record Growth

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Double 11 weekend, merchants in Hong Kong wasted no time in launching their promotional campaigns, building upon the pre-sale momentum that began on Oct. 24.

Among the frontrunners in the eCommerce industry, SHOPLINE has recently expanded its reach by opening new offices in Sydney and London. This strategic move has not only attracted new clients but has also showcased SHOPLINE’s extraordinary ability to help businesses thrive.

According to internal data from SHOPLINE, their merchants in Hong Kong experienced an impressive 20.4% week-on-week growth in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) during the pre-Double 11 weekend in 2023, compared to the previous weekend. This significant lead of 14.5% from the previous year demonstrates a significant growth in the selling of merchandise through eCommerce platforms.

One key factor contributing to this growth is the effective utilization of OMO (online-merging-offline) retail models. SHOPLINE’s merchants who integrated physical pop-up stores with special promotional activities during the two-week pre-sale period achieved a staggering 2.5 times higher GMV compared to the same period last year, when promotions were solely conducted online.

Notably, the top three store categories during this period were Fashion & Apparel, Consumer Goods, and Beauty & Skincare. Consumer spending on Beauty & Skincare products experienced an impressive year-on-year increase of over 40% while spending on Fashion & Apparel products saw a solid growth of over 10%.
