A Retiree in Malaysia Wins RM16.97 Million Jackpot With RM4 Bet

Many of us place our bets in the lottery, believing that someday we will hit the jackpot and turn our lives around. We do it over again with hopes that our lucky day will come, and we have probably lost track of how much we’ve spent on it over the years. It’s the same story for everyone, except for this man who had incredible luck.

On April 26, Sports Toto Malaysia shared on Facebook that a 70-year-old retiree won the RM16.97 million jackpot through Supreme Toto 6/58.

The winning ticket, which was sold at Negeri Sembilan, had the lucky numbers 09, 31, 25, 42, 43, and 48. The retiree placed the bets for this winning combination on the April 16 and 19 draws, respectively.

What’s shocking about this win is he hit the jackpot on the first draw day with a bet of RM4 only, according to a report by China Press.

The retiree shared that he doesn’t have “a winning formula” and that he randomly selects numbers but always includes his favourites: 9 and 31. He also mentioned that the lottery is like his version of Sudoku.

As for the winnings, the 70-year-old said he’ll share it with his family and use it for investments.
