AirAsia is set to become the first airline to establish a flight between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Kertajati, Indonesia. Starting May 17, travel junkies can take advantage of this new international connectivity to explore the streets of the Greater Bandung and Cirebon metropolitan areas.
“We are thrilled to be the first airline connecting Kuala Lumpur to Kertajati commencing next month. This route will not only boost tourism and the economy in the respective regions, but also strengthen the ties between the two countries,” said AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat in a press release.
The flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kertajati will be available every Wednesday and Sunday. The plane from Malaysia will arrive and depart from Kertajati International Airport, the “second largest airport in Indonesia.”
“As an airline group with extensive connectivity in Asean and the Asia Pacific, together with our affiliate, Indonesia AirAsia (QZ), we will continue to connect travelers directly to numerous unique and inadequately serviced cities in Indonesia and Malaysia as well as to the major destinations,” said Asmat.
Until Sunday, April 16, AirAsia is offering all-in fares from RM149 for the travel period between May 17 and October 23 via the AirAsia Super App or through its official website.
Operating domestic and international flights to more than 165 destinations, AirAsia is the flagship carrier of Malaysia and the largest budget airline in Southeast Asia.
