Atome's BNPL Service Is Now Available in TikTok Shop Malaysia

To “harness the potential of online shopping and foster economic growth in the country,” financial services application Atome has inked its partnership with TikTok Shop in Malaysia.

The partnership enables a buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) payment option in the e-commerce platform, which is expected to boost TikTok Shop’s sales in the region.

In an announcement posted on Atome’s Linkedin page, the said partnership will allow merchants and small businesses to offer a more convenient payment option. It will likewise provide customers with more choice and flexibility in shopping.

“By integrating Atome as a payment option on TikTok Shop, we’re excited to help drive e-commerce growth and support brands of all sizes, but especially SMEs and young entrepreneurs in Malaysia while also providing consumers with the choice, convenience and flexibility of how they want to shop and pay,” said William Yang, head of commercial at Atome.

The partnership aims to boost TikTok Shop’s presence in Southeast Asia and is expected to aid the platform in competing with e-commerce giants in the region such as Shopee and Lazada.
