Malaysia Airlines Offers Free Wi-Fi Onboard With a Catch

Malaysia Airlines to Offer Free In-Flight Wi-Fi, But With a Catch

There’s no need to wait until landing before you can send that important message or email if you’re flying with Malaysia Airlines. Starting July 1, passengers leaving for international flights can make the most of the complimentary Wi-Fi connection after the Malaysia Airlines Group secured approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.

From boarding to arrival, passengers can stay connected via their electronic devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, and other handheld devices that can be kept in their seat pockets. This means you no longer need to switch off your devices during take-off and landing, and all you need to do is enable flight mode.

However, there is a catch—only passengers in Business Class, Business Suite, and Enrich Platinum loyalty customers can access the free Wi-Fi while in the air. Additionally, the offer is only available for a limited time and will expire on Dec. 31, 2023.

The complimentary Wi-Fi connection will also be available to passengers of Malaysia Airlines’ sister carriers: Firefly and MASwings.
