Malaysia to Revive KL-SG High-Speed Rail Network Project

Malaysian Government to Revive High-Speed Rail Network Plans

The Malaysian government announced its plans to revive the high-speed rail (HSR) network project, which has been on pause since 2021.

MyHSR Corporation, a company owned by the Minister of Finance, was established not only to oversee the project, but also to manage the call for concept proposals to develop the planned railway. Local and international firms are urged to submit proposals.

The HSR network is envisioned to connect Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, providing a safer and more efficient travel option. MyHSR Corp.'s newly appointed chairman, Datuk Seri Fauzi Abdul Rahman, stated that the KL-SG HSR project will greatly benefit the people by enhancing economic dynamism in the Klang Valley and the southern corridor of the peninsula, as well as the rest of Malaysia.

A briefing about the project is scheduled on July 27. For more information, go here.
