Free 'Rahmah' Toll on April 19-21 and 24 for Eid al-Fitr

PM Anwar: Free 'Rahmah' Toll From April 19-21 and 24 for Eid al-Fitr

Motorists can enjoy toll exemptions beginning yesterday, April 19, until April 21, as well as on April 24, in view of Hari Raya Eid al-Fitr this week.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the announcement yesterday via government news portal Bernama, saying the toll exemptions can be availed by those returning to their hometowns during the holidays and that the free tolls will help reduce the travel costs of those journeying.

The "Rahmah" toll initiative will apply to 13 highways and all types of vehicles.

Expressway service provider PLUS Malaysia also announced guidelines for the toll exemption for Eid al-Fitr yesterday, noting that the initiative runs until 11:59 PM, April 21, and from 12:01 AM-11:59 PM on April 24.

It is advised that users of RFID, Touch 'n Go cards, and SmartTag must only enter and exit through their designated lanes. Touch 'n Go users must tap their cards at the toll lane reader for their journey record, although no fares will be deducted from their cards or e-Wallets.

SmartTAG users must also check that their tags have enough battery.
