Prepare for a one-of-a-kind collaboration of gastronomy and culture, as the culinary event “Peranakan Weekend” is landing in Kuala Lumpur soon!
To be held on Nov. 3-4 at the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, the event will feature six-hand dinners for a span of two days with renowned chefs Julia Ung from Penang, Debbie Teoh from Melaka, and Lionel Chee from Singapore.
These culinary maestros will whip up traditional and near-forgotten dishes that will remind guests of the rich heritage of the Peranakan people. Some dishes that will be presented at the event include Jiu Hu Char, Ayam Buah Keluak, Sek Beef, and Slow-Braised Labu.
To make the experience more exciting, award-winning mixologist David Hans and Bacardi-Martini Asia Pacific trade ambassador Dexter Ng will be curating drinks to pair with the dishes.
On the second day, there will also be an afternoon tea session at The Botanist Lounge and Bar in Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur. This will showcase various Peranakan sweets and bites, such as Lemak Laksa, Otah on Rye, Pulut Panggang, and Kuih-muihs.
Relish all of these and more at “Peranakan Weekend!” To learn more about the event and see where you can book your seats, go here.
