KL Ranks 22nd in the 2024 Global Report of Top Remote Work Destinations
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, work arrangements have changed and remote jobs have become the norm for many companies all over the world. With that, many remote workers have been traveling and staying overseas, including in Malaysia!
According to a 2024 report by the global HR firm Remote, Kuala Lumpur placed 22nd in the study, outranking many cities in Asia, including Seoul, Ho Chi Minh, Beijing, Singapore, and Jakarta.
The same report also stated that KL takes the spot because of the speedy internet connection, ample co-working spots, friendly visa conditions, and a world-class airport – making it the ideal destination for many remote workers. Remote described the city as a “taste for senses” for having a tropical climate, perfect for the perfect relaxing vibe while working and exploring the food scene and tourist areas.
The list is based on several factors, such as openness, attractiveness, quality of life, internet, safety, cost of living, incentives, and inflation. These factors have sliders where you can adjust based on your priorities and preferences to help you find the best destinations for remote work.
