One of Malaysia’s biggest music festivals, Good Vibes Festival, will not be happening this year as it has been canceled once again, concert organizer Future Sound Asia announced on July 1.

The cancellation came after The Central Agency Committee for Application for Filming and Foreign Artists Presentations (PUSPAL) announced that large-scale performances featuring international artists on July 20 should be “rescheduled to a later date” to honor the coronation ceremony of Malaysia’s 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.

According to the organizers, the decision to cancel the festival was because rescheduling would not be possible as it involves multiple touring artists for multiple days.

The festival was supposed to take place at the Resorts World Awana from July 20 to 21, featuring acts such as Joji, BIBI, J Balvin, Russ, Peggy Gou, and Alec Benjamin, among others.

The organizers, however, assured those who have already bought tickets that they will automatically receive full refunds to the payment method they used upon purchasing.

This marks the second year in a row that the festival has been canceled, as last year’s edition was abruptly nixed due to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy’s on-stage kiss with bandmate Ross MacDonald.
