CPAC Original 'Spooks, the Musical' to Take the Stage on March 24

Theatre fans, you're in for a treat.

The Cempaka Performing Arts Company's original theatre production, "Spooks, the Musical," is coming this March 24 to delight audiences. Written and directed by Scott McQuaid with music and lyrics by Nick Choo, the musical centres on the world of ghouls and ghosts.

Set at Transylvania High in the Monster Realm, it follows the story of a half-human, half-vampire teenage girl named Drusilla, who's set to start her first day at the school. This coming-of-age story traverses Drusilla's confusion about her identity and her struggles to fit into such a spooky and strange land. Although already having a lot on her plate to deal with, Drusilla's life becomes even stranger when a mysterious entity threatens to obliterate the Monster Realm.

For lovers of horror, you'll be pleased to know that classic monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, witches, and mummies, to name a few, will be appearing in "Spooks, the Musical."

The musical stars Lauren Ho as Drusilla, Shamsul Johan, as Dracula, Sophia Juliana as Raven, Ella Sophia as Stitches, Alexandria Kay as Countess Estrella, Lakshmi Ahrunagiry as Ms. Eldritch, Bryan Tiang as Professor Van Helsing, and Raul Dylan as Howl.

It is set to be staged at the North Hall Theater (8:15 PM) at Cempaka School Cheras in Selangor on March 24, 25, 26, 30, and April 1 and 2. Tickets range from RM88-RM138 and may be purchased on CloudJoi.
