The Fantastic Art World from Centre Pompidou is a highlight of the 1st Macao International Children’s Arts Festival, taking place today until Oct. 27, 2024, at the Macao Museum of Art. Jointly organized by the Macao Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, MGM, and Centre Pompidou, this event encourages children to explore their creativity through interactive art exhibitions and workshops. With a focus on light, shadow, color, and shapes, children are immersed in a world of artistic experimentation that nurtures their imagination and expression.
The exhibition features three theme zones: Passing Through by Françoise Petrovitch, where children can transform themselves in a vibrant forest of colorful giants; Laterna Magica, an exploration of the origins of cinema through light; and Rhythms Shapes Colours, where children discover geometric abstraction by creating dynamic compositions inspired by Mondrian’s work.
Workshops accompany the exhibition, offering children aged 3 to 12 an opportunity to engage with art in hands-on sessions. Tickets are available for MOP30 (two-person) or MOP40 (three-person) for exhibition access, while family workshop tickets are priced at MOP50. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
