Catch the 'As the Spring Breeze Comes' Lantern Festival Concert on Feb. 5

For lovers of music and live performances, one concert you should not miss this February is the Macau Chinese Orchestra's Lantern Festival concert, "As the Spring Breeze Comes."

The concert sees conductor and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra director Lin Daye come together with Erhu artist Jiang Kemi and Yangqin performer Zhang Gaoxiang to present beautiful string music to the public. Jiang is famous in the international music scene and is regarded for her "elegant and delicate yet generous" style, whereas Zhang is known for his longstanding exploration of Chinese chamber music and "masterful, super skills." The couple are famous in the Chinese music arena.

Highlights of the programme include the "Song of the Sea" ensemble, composed by Frederico de Brito and Ferrer Trindade and arranged by Huang Jianwei; the "Hua Bangzi" ensemble, arranged by Yan Shaoyi and adapted by Liu Yuan; and a Macau Love Story suite, composed by Kuan Ngai-Chung.

The concert, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is expected to last an hour and 30 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission. It is suitable for adults and children as young as six years old.

Tickets are currently on sale on Macau Ticket's website, with prices ranging from MOP$120-MOP$250. Holders of full-time Student Cards, valid Macau Senior Citizens Cards, or Disability Assessment Registration Cards are entitled to 40% off on tickets at second lowest price and lowest price.

Concert attendees will be required to wear a mask inside the venue. It is recommended for audience members to be in the venue 20 minutes before the start of the concert.

"As the Spring Breeze Comes" is scheduled on Feb. 5 (8 PM) at the Grand Auditorium of the Macau Cultural Centre.
