Courtesy Lane to Ease Passport Issuance of Filipino Muslims Bound for Hajj

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. announced yesterday that the DFA will assist Filipino Muslims who will be making the Hajj pilgrimage this July in getting their regular passports through the Courtesy Lane.

Filipino Muslims who plan to perform the Hajj qualify for walk-in accommodation at the DFA Courtesy Lane in all consular offices in the country starting today, May 23, until June 3.

They must present a Certificate of Muslim Filipino Tribal Membership from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in their application to indicate that the certificate is for Hajj visa application.

Core requirements for a new passport for an adult include a confirmed online appointment, personal appearance, an accomplished application form, an original copy and photocopy of their Philippine Statistics Authority-authenticated birth certificate on security paper, and an acceptable ID and its photocopy.

Details on passport application requirements may be viewed on the DFA's website.
