Free Ride Alert: EDSA Carousel Kicks Off 24/7 ‘Libreng Sakay’ Program

Good news, commuters! The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is offering 24/7 free rides until Dec. 31. According to the agency, the “Libreng Sakay” initiative aims to accommodate more passengers amid the extension of mall hours this Christmas season.

Based on Board Resolutions 172 and 176, an additional 100 public utility buses (PUBs) will be at the EDSA busway from 11 PM-4 AM. As for the trips from Monumento to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), 650 PUBs will operate from 4 AM-11 PM.

Commuters coming to the south are advised to head to the new One Ayala Terminal, an international transport hub that houses southbound vehicles. The Metro Manila Development Authority told CNN Philippines that they will be deploying more traffic enforcers to maintain road safety and make sure that buses are abiding by the rules.
