ICYMI: Mary Grace, Angel’s Burger Run Out of Ensaymada, Beef Patty Amid Supply Shortage

The global food security continues to worsen due to several factors including the pandemic, geopolitical issues, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, inflation, drought, and border closures.

Recent reports indicate that several F&B establishments in the Philippines are experiencing supply shortages, including Mary Grace's best-selling ensaymada due to a lack of wheat supply, Mang Inasal's chicken oil, Mcdonald’s BFF fries, and local burger shop Angel's Burger's beef patty. 

According to the U.N Food Agency, as reported by Reuters, global food prices rose 13% in March 2022 which affected low-income countries while still in the recovery phase of pandemic.

In addition to the issues with wheat, potato, and meat supply, the price fluctuations of fuel and fertilizers also impacted global exporters.
