The already headline-grabbing turnout at Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo’s grand rally in Pasig City found another reason to go viral when Ariana Grande shared an aerial video of the crowd singing to her hit song “Break Free.”
In two successive Instagram stories early on March 21, the international pop superstar reposted clips of the jam-packed Emerald Avenue in Ortigas where supporters of Robredo sang along to “Break Free.”
“I could not believe this was real… I love you more than words,” Grande wrote in the Instagram story. In another reposted clip, pink-clad Robredo supporters can be seen waving various sorts of campaign paraphernalia like ribbons and placards while jumping to the tune of Grande’s 2014 hit song.
“Break Free” was among the trending topics on Twitter Philippines today, March 21, with more than 37,000 tweets as of writing.
Dubbed as “PasigLaban,” the rally along Ortigas’ business district yesterday drew around 137,000 people, according to Pasig City police, making it the biggest crowd for any Robredo-Kiko Pangilinan team campaign so far.
