FDCP’s ‘Pelikulaya’ Accepts LGBTQIA+ Film Entries Until May 13

In honor of the upcoming Pride Month, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will host the "Pelikulaya: LGBTIA+ Film Festival" from June 10 to June 26, 2022. The national film agency is now accepting local short film entries until May 13.

The second leg of Pelikulaya is dedicated to celebrating diversity and emphasizing equality among members of the LGBTBQIA+ community. This year’s theme “Pantay-pantay, Iba’t ibang Kulay!” seeks to support less understood identities of the community, including trans visibility.

Interested applicants must submit a 20-minute short narrative film written and directed by Filipino LGBTQIA+ individuals. Ten short films will win cash prizes of up to P35,000, including the Best Short Film, Best Director, Audience Choice Award, Special Jury Prize, and Special Mention.

Winners will be announced on June 2
