EDSA-Kamuning Flyover Reopens on July 23

The EDSA-Kamuning Flyover in Quezon City opens today, July 23, following temporary closure for rehabilitation works.

All of the three southbound lanes of the flyover will now be passable to motorists beginning 5 PM, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways via Facebook yesterday.

“We are happy to report that we were able to deliver on the given 30-day timetable despite the intermittent rain showers experienced in the past weeks," said DPWH Quezon 2nd District Engineer Eduardo V. Santos.

In a press release back on June 21, Santos said they would require at least a month to carry out the repairs as these will be done by manual labor and to account for concrete curing.

The major repair works covered the 527.15-meter stretch of the flyover and began last June 25 after large cracks and potholes were seen on the flyover.

After the closure of the EDSA-Kamuning Flyover, National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas set up a meeting to plan an assessment of bridges and flyovers in the capital.
