Makatizens, here’s a reason for you to love waking up early on Sundays! In a bid to improve mobility and become a more pedestrian-friendly city, Make It Makati announced that Ayala Avenue will be car-free on all Sunday mornings in September.
“Makatizens! Mark your calendars and set your alarms for an unforgettable urban experience as Ayala Avenue transforms into a car-free haven on September 3, 2023,” Make It Makati said on their social media posts.
The entire 2.3-kilometer stretch will be closed from 6 AM to 10 AM to give way to joggers, cyclists, skaters, roller skaters, fur parents who would like to take their “babies” for a walk, and those who simply want to take a relaxing morning stroll.
Once you’re done with your chosen morning routine, you can head over to Paseo de Roxas, which is also closed on weekends from 10 AM to 10 PM, beside Ayala Triangle Gardens for Makati Street Meet where you can take a break and enjoy a range of food and drinks.
