Our Five Fave Glam Looks From TikTok Star Sassa Gurl

We can all take a leaf out of TikTok star Sassa Gurl's book when it comes to dressing to impress. While the online personality, who identifies as a transgender woman, is usually seen wearing a plain tee, a sando, or her iconic yellow crochet crop top and sporting ultra-tinted lips and cheeks in her TikTok videos, she sure knows how to go full-glam when the moment calls for it.

For those not in the know, Sassa Gurl burst onto the scene thanks to her humorous skits on Filipino culture. Her videos, which encompass home life, after-school antics, her own version of “Pinoy Big Brother” confessionals, and other oddly specific moments – such as crushing on the sacristan during mass, getting sent to the guidance office for being a war freak, dealing with the grumpy assistant at the computer shop, and reapplying lip tint and baby powder inside the classroom – struck a chord among many Filipinos cooped up at home in the middle of the pandemic.

Today, Sassa Gurl has around five million followers and a total of over 208 million likes on TikTok. The social media star also made history recently by becoming the first member of the LGBTQIA+ community to be named White Castle Whisky's calendar girl this 2022.

To celebrate everyone's favorite "mima niyong busog," The Beat Asia gathered some of her most glamorous and fashown looks on Instagram.

In Blush

Sassa Gurl was one of the famous personalities invited to actress Francine Diaz's grand debut celebration last February. She arrived wearing a romantic blush Job Dacon gown, which demurely covered her on top but featured a singit-high slit that showed off her right leg. We're all for the duality of this pa-sweetums sa taas and party sa baba look! (sweet on top, party below).

She also wore a long sleek wig and left the shocking red cheek tint at home for glam makeup done by Keiv Torres. Her peg? “[T]ita mong nagbabalot ng handa." (Your aunt who’s packing up food to take home).

Ka-Vogue in Neon Green

Sassa Gurl was a scene stealer at Vice Ganda's UnkabogaBALL last December 2021, which saw the attendance of the country's LGBTQIA+ social media stars and celebrities. For the event, she sported a neon green wig and fur jacket, a neon green and silver bodysuit, and finished the look off with nude tie- up heels that matched her stockings. Here, she is with Vice Ganda, who donned a standout silver dress and veil by Jaggy Glarino.

Blue is the Warmest Color

Sassa Gurl rocked two shades of blue in this fabulous, layered outfit, starting with what looks like a midi jumpsuit in sky blue, followed by a cream corset, and then a teal blazer. She wore black T-strap pumps with the look, as well as a long black wig that she parted down the middle.

Stik-O Inspo

What better else to channel than everyone's favorite childhood snack Stik-O? This look, captioned as "Sassa natagpuang (found as a) stick o," has the social media star wearing a black and white striped strapless dress paired with the fiercest black patent thigh- high boots we've ever seen. This look was topped off by a black fur jacket, which she slung down her arms, as well as a medium- length wig with bangs. This is sending us Cruella de Vil vibes, we think.

Kimono Avant-Garde

Sassa Gurl went the avant-garde route with this look, which saw her don a white rose-print bodysuit, fishnet stockings, black thigh- high patent boots, and black patent gloves. She also wore a red and black printed kimono, accessorized by a red leather belt, as well as a long red wig parted down the middle. The look would not have been complete without the katana umbrella the star wielded.

Sassa captioned the look, “Nicki Minaj if okay lang naman (if it’s okay).” We think, “Kill Bill” moment.
