GetActive! Singapore 2022 Returns With Exciting Sports, Events After 2-Year Virtual Shift

GetActive! Singapore (GASG) 2022 will make a comeback following two years of virtual programming in a bid to reintroduce sports competitions and bring communities together since the COVID-19 pandemic came to the fore.

Sport Singapore (SportSG), in a press release on June 27, said GASG will be held from July 30 to Aug. 8 at the Singapore Sports Hub, ActiveSG Sport Centres, and heartland community spaces. Apart from traditional favourite Pesta Sukan making a return, GASG 2022 will also introduce new activities, namely YouthCreates Urban Fiesta, the first-ever Seniors Obstacle Course, and Active Health Make Every Move Count Workshops.

Community athletes can anticipate a wide range of activities from Pesta Sukan alone, which will offer 24 sports, 13 para sports, and five signature events. The youth, on the other hand, can look forward to clinics, sports tryouts, and competitions in skateboarding, parkour, and roller skating with YouthCreates Urban Fiesta.

To be educated more about fitness and health, and try out functional movements and exercises, the young and old alike can check out the Active Health Experiential Booth and Make Every Move Count Workshops.

Pre-schoolers and teachers will also have their own fun with the Nurture Kids programme at the National Stadium where they can play modified traditional games.

In celebration of Singapore's 57th birthday on Aug. 9, the popular GetActive! Workout: Dance of The Nation (DOTN) will also stage a return. Singaporeans are encouraged to submit a video of themselves and their loved ones performing their own dances to this year's theme song "Stronger Together."
