MOE to Open 3 New Kindergartens in 2026, 2027

MOE: 3 New Kindergartens to Open in 2026, 2027

Parents and guardians in Singapore will have more choices for quality and affordable pre-school institutions for their children in the not-too-distant future now that the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced it will be opening three new kindergartens in 2026 and 2027.

In a press release yesterday, the ministry identified the three new MOE Kindergartens (MKs) as MK@Pioneer in the Plantation District of Tengah (2026), MK@Rivervale along Rivervale Drive (2027), and MK@Townsville on Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 (2027).

These MKs will be located within primary schools and will each offer 120 to 200 K1 slots. Registration for admission for the said schools will begin in February of the year before its opening.

Parents can look forward to their children being exposed to different languages, as the MK curriculum offers the three Mother Tongue Languages (MTLs) — Chinese, Malay, and Tamil — to encourage bilingualism among young children.

"MK students will also enjoy priority admission to the primary school that the MK is located within, and benefit from a smooth transition from Kindergarten to Primary 1 within the same environment," the MOE said.

"For parents who require a full-day care service for their child, Kindergarten Care (KCare) services are available in all MKs from Mondays to Fridays, 7 AM to 7 PM, including the school holidays."
