Civil servants in Singapore will receive a mid-year bonus equivalent to 0.35 month, the Public Service Division (PSD) announced in a release on June 20.
Those in job grades equivalent to MX13(I) and MX14 will receive a bonus one-time payment of S$200, while those in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, and those in the Operations Support Scheme (OSS) Grades III to V, will receive a one-time payment of S$400, according to the release.
"The pandemic has underscored the importance of a strong Public Service and the Government deeply appreciates the hard work and perseverance of all public officers who have contributed to the COVID-19 fight and Singapore’s economic recovery," the PSD said.
The decision comes after a consultation with public sector unions and considers the projected economic growth for Singapore. Despite the stabilising local COVID-19 situation, Singapore's GDP growth is estimated to come in at the lower half of 3.0% to 5.0% amid economic uncertainties.
