Have Your Favourite Coffee Fix With These Bike themed Cafes in Singapore

When 2020 came along with the pandemic, a lot of things changed in the way we live. Apart from the work-from-home trend, COVID-19 halted operations in the travel industry and dine-in services among F&B establishments, to name a few. However, during those trying times, bicycle sales sprang up because more people use them as a form of transportation, especially employees commuting to work.

If riding a bicycle has become one of your newest obsessions, we’ve listed some of cyclists’ favourite bike-themed coffee shops in Singapore for a quick stop before hitting the road.

Wheeler’s Yard

Wheeler’s Yard is an old warehouse turned into a bicycle-themed café offering coffee and “all things vintage.”

Located along Whampoa Park, this bicycle-themed café is a perfect place to hang out with friends while enjoying a hearty cup of joe. You can easily find Wheeler’s Yard because of the bicycle perched atop the coffee shop’s roof, while their dining space has bicycles on top of the table.

Some of their most popular menu items are lemon tart, chili crab pasta, avocado smoothie, roasted chicken and waffle, black pepper lime squid, slider buns, and more. For drinks, we

recommend trying their iced espresso ball coffee and handcrafted kombucha that comes in four flavors (Berried Peaches, Gingeric Passion, Grinty Rosemelon, and Original Komby).

The store is open from Tuesday to Friday (11 AM to 3 PM and 5.30 PM to 9 PM) and every Saturday and Sunday (10.30 AM to 9 PM).

Blue Balls

Here’s another fascinating place for bicycle enthusiasts: Blue Balls, a bicycle-themed café owned by two avid cyclists and friends, Petter Nilsen and Stig Adolfsen, who came from Norway.

The café was inspired by the Blue Balls Cycle Club, which is a group of cyclists who meet regularly for long rides and some drinking sessions.

Whether you are a cyclist or not, everyone is welcome to dine in at the Blue Balls café. Their menu consists of soups and salads, pastas, burgers, pizzas, and more. They also have “Junior Cyclist Meal” perfect for kids under seven years old.

Ciclo E Caffe

This bicycle-themed coffee was born out of a father’s love for his childhood bike and vintage steel.

The café specialises in dark roast and specialty grade Arabica coffee. We recommend pairing it with their pastry selection including butter croissants, raisin scone, raisin swirl, and chocolate Danish.

Earlier in 2022, the café announced additions to their menu including artisanal gelato as well as freshly tweaked coffee flavours.

Crank n’ Chain

Wandering around the island of Sentosa? Don’t forget to drop by this bicycle café at Sentosa Cove where you can enjoy a cup of joe while checking out high-performance bikes.

Crank n’ Chain is known for their Balinese Arabica coffee made from 100% Bali espresso beans with a fruity taste and a hint of dark chocolate. They serve coffee as early as 6:30 AM until 2 PM from Tuesday to Sunday.

They also have gluten-free cake and pastry options such as Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake, Banana Vanilla Bean, Lemon Coconut Muffin, and many more.

The café’s showroom features “exquisite bike brands, top-notch components, and high-performance apparel.”
