Testing, Children’s Vax Centres Open ‘Til 7 PM on Saturdays

Joint Testing and Children's Vaccination Centres to Remain Open 'Til 7 PM on Saturdays

Starting today, Nov. 19, the operating hours of all Joint Testing and Vaccination Centres (JVTCs) and Children's Vaccination Centres (CVCs) on Saturdays will be extended to 7 PM.

In a press release by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday, this is to make getting vaccinated more convenient after observing a take-up for the bivalent Moderna/Spikevax vaccine and vaccination/booster for kids.

The MOH will convert the former Hong Kah Secondary School into a JVTC beginning Nov. 21 to help in optimising the delivery of COVID-19 jabs to Singaporeans.

JVTCs and CVCs used to close at 1 PM on Saturdays but will now operate the same hours as weekdays, from 9 AM to 7 PM, until the end of December 2022.

Individuals aged 50 and above may walk into any JVTC to receive their jab without prior appointments. Siblings of a child with an existing appointment from Monday to Thursday may also get their jab without an appointment at CVCs. To avoid the crowd, it's recommended to go to JVTCs before 6:30 PM from Monday to Thursday and after 2 PM on Saturday.

“Vaccination remains a key part of our COVID-19 strategy in ensuring our population is well protected against infection and severe illness," the MOH release read. "Individuals, including children, are encouraged to receive COVID-19 vaccines recommended for them as soon as they are eligible to do so."
