‘Christmas on a Great Street’ is Back at Orchard Road Starting Nov. 12

The 39th edition of the annual Orchard Road Christmas light-up, more commonly known as “Christmas on a Great Street,” will be back to normal this year, the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) announced at a press conference on Oct. 27. This will be the first time locals and foreign tourists will enjoy the lights and lined-up events in person since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

Together with Hitachi, the light-up’s major sponsor since 1991, this year’s decorations will be a 3.1-kilometre stretch from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura. Some displays to look forward to are the tall bright arches and the 104 trees decorated with energy-saving LED white lights, which will turn pink next year for the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. There will also be a multimedia 3D projection show with augmented reality (AR) on the façade of the Mandarin Gallery.

The “Christmas on a Great Street” light-up ceremony will kick off on Nov. 12 to signal the start of the Christmas season. For more information, visit this page.
